Our first choir practice…in nine years!
This week marked a truly joyful moment in the life of our parish — our first choir practice in nine years! Until now, we’ve never had quite enough singers to form a full choir, but thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of our community, that has finally changed.
Under the excellent leadership of our choirmistress, Xenia, we now have two singers for each of the SATB parts, giving us a beautifully balanced sound and the confidence to sing the music of the Liturgy in full harmony once again. It’s a wonderful step forward, both musically and spiritually, as we work together to offer our worship in song. You can listen to our efforts here: https://youtube.com/shorts/RtIRFnFqVjU
We are especially grateful to our wonderful catechumens, who have stepped forward and lent their voices to the choir. Their willingness to serve and take part has brought fresh energy and a sense of renewal to our parish life.
As we rehearse and rediscover the joy of singing together, there’s a real sense of unity and hope in the air — a reminder that when each person contributes their voice, however small or new, something truly beautiful can emerge. May this be the beginning of a new chapter of harmony, prayer, and praise for our church family.
