Join us for The Royal Hours of Christmas.
This is a special and solemn service celebrated on Christmas Eve, also known as the Eve of the Nativity. This beautiful service brings together the traditional Little Hours—Prime, Terce, Sext, and None—into one unified celebration.
They are called “Royal” because, historically, the Byzantine emperor and his court were present, highlighting the belief in Christ as the true King. What makes this service especially meaningful are the carefully chosen readings from the Old Testament, Epistles, and Gospels, along with hymns that focus entirely on the mystery and joy of Christ’s birth. It is followed by Typica, a short, prayer-based service.
All are welcome to participate in this reflective and enriching preparation for the Nativity.
Followed by mince pies and hot drinks.
Come and see! Come and join us.
